Reason for Props and Location

Props - The costumes we used were made to fit in with the time period, for example, the maid wore a traditional Victorian outfit, which consisted of a long black dress and an apron. We also used this idea for the little girls costume and for the Father we dressed him in a smart suit, which you wouldn't see worn at home in these modern times. For our recent filming we have added in a mother and a baby to expand the storyline, the mother suit with the maid and daughters costume and the baby will be a doll wrapped in a blanket. When filming in the dining room we set the table to look realistic of the time and when the daughter was playing in the garden she used a toy ball to show she was having fun, we chose this as it is a basic toy that children would have played with during this time.

Location - For our previous filming we mainly set the scene in the garden and only used the dining room for in door filming as we felt that this fitted in with the time period. We ensured that we did not get any modern day objects/ equiptment in the shots i.e. a TV. For our recent filming we are going to use a wooden bed to get that Victorian feel for the mother giving birth at home as she would have done in those days.
