The History of Magazines
The Gentlemen's Magazine was published in 1731 and is considered to be the first real magazine. Edward Cave, (also known as Sylvanus Urban), was the editor of The Gentlemen's Magazine and he was the first to use the term 'magazine'.
The oldest consumer still in print nowadays is The Scots Magazine published in 1739, however has been adapted over the years to be the way it is now in 2009.
