Survey 2 - Results

From asking people to complete my survey I have discovered that most people are attracted to watching trailers by a good story line rather than the music or whether it has suspense. The results for whether people preferred to watch a black and white trailer or one in colour was equal, this is good because we were sure we were going to film ours in black and white and we weren't sure about what the results were going to be like because people are so used to films being in colour these days and are not so open minded about black and white films anymore.

The third question i asked was whether people thought that music should be played the whole way through the trailer, and the majority of answers was yes. I asked some of the people why this was, and they said it created more suspense and gave you more imagination, especially if you tried to contrast it by using happy music to a sad trailer to create a good effect. Again most people agreed that it should be a silent movie if it was going to be in black and white because it is then significant to the time period we are going to set it in.

8 out of 10 people thought that the music should change depending on what is happening, which I agree with because as most said it would get boring with the same piece of music the entire way through and also very repetitive. On the whole I am very happy with the outcome of this survey as it has matched our ideas very well and we will now be able to continue with our original ideas.
