Tilly Trotter was set during the reign of Queen Victoria and this is clearly shown by the costume and props, we have also set our trailer in these times which helps us relate the two. Through out the trailer music is played the entire time so you can also get a feel of the time period and it also gives a lot of impact, and suspense.
The main character Tilly is used, hurt and abused as is the same with the child 'Gabriella' in our trailer, this is clearly portrayed in the trailer to give the audience a good idea what the actual film will be about.
This film shows how women were treated differently to men many years ago, as were the lower class. This is also shown in our trailer as Gabriella's father is clearly a wealthy man as they have a maid, which is also a main feature of our film. Again this links to the time period in both films which will help us to create the right setting.
