Description of magazine cover

As you can view from our magazine cover, it has changed from our plan. We had to use a different picture as mentioned, due to the fact that the one we was going to use was not the right size. We also tried to cut out the background of this picture on photoshop, we managed to do this through the use of the lasoo tool, this was quite complicated due to the fact that we had wine glasses on a beige background and that the sun was shining through the doors which affected the table. After we had cut this out we decided that it wasnt going to work well so decided to use this image. Looking at it now, we see that this image has more of an impact as we can see the Father and daughter in a medium shot facing the camera, we can clearly see their facial expressions through this image and the fact that there is a lack of love between the two. As you can see, this is a different photograph to what we used for our poster advertising our film.

  1. You have clearly done a great deal of work, girls, but at the moment it does not hang together. You need somehow to link what you have done to the analysis you conducted of real media products and how your products therefore meet those typical codes and conventions.
As far as the print work is concerned, you need to print these off and see how they work in reality - my giess is you will find the layout of the mag cover is very chunky and there is lots of empty space which is possibly not conventional for a film magazine cover. the same with the poster - have you included enough information?
I appreciate that much of this will be included in your evaluation, however, I would like to see it evidenced in your planning too.
Audience feedback across the 3 products is vital - do your audience feel they are all part of a successful marketing? Is there enough to anchor the products?
